DeVotie - 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley

The original idea for Sigma Alpha Epsilon was Noble Leslie DeVotie’s—leader of the eight founding members and considered the most revered and influential. His motive was to perpetuate the warm friendships he and his friends had formed at the University of Alabama. In 1855, he conceptualized the ideals of a fraternity with a few of his friends as they walked along the banks of the Black Warrior River. On March 9th, 1856, they assembled for the purpose of organizing the Fraternity. DeVotie is credited with developing SAE’s name and Ritual.

Our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry, and plum are complemented by hints of toasted oak, dried currant, and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
