Founder John Webb Kerr:
John Webb Kerr (Alabama 1856) helped establish one of the most successful fraternities in American history. Kerr was elected as SAE's first secretary and helped form the foundations of The Fraternity we love today. It was Kerr's home where many fraternity meetings took place and the first place SAE called home.
Like other Founding Fathers, Kerr grew distant from the fraternity that had meant so much to him. However, at the 1896 Convention, Kerr attended and spoke to the assembly, saying, "Forty years ago was the last time I attended an initiation or took any active part in SAE. Yet when I met you today, I was borne backward to those good times when I was a youth full of hope and ambition."
There's a deeper appreciation in Kerr's story for what SAE has always aimed to be: a home. While we as brothers may stray from that home, it never truly leaves us. Wherever a brother may be, and no matter how much time has passed, like Kerr, may he know that he can always come home to SAE. So we present to you, Kerr. Our challenge for you is to find that brother who has grown distant, share this selection with him, and like Kerr, bring him home.
We introduce you to Founder John Webb Kerr. Cab is king. And in a vintage like this, it shows, as our standard bearer is big, dark, structured and showy. With aromas of blackberry, kirsch and cedar, over a hint of pencil lead. Dense, dark, intense and with sweet fruits on the palate, it is a big wine that will benefit from decanting or giving it time to air as it reveals more layers and depth with each sip.
Wisdom:
Minerva, the goddess of wisdom, represents the importance of intellect within everyday tasks. She is known for her dedication and as the sponsor of all useful arts, continuing to serve as a symbol of power and virtue. Minerva is a strong warrior who fights for just causes standing proudly with her shield and spear. Carrying weapons of wisdom and knowledge, she is the embodiment of peace and prosperity that Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s men strive to represent daily as loyal sons of Minerva.
We introduce you to Wisdom. This Chardonnay is a real gem. Hailing from the cool and foggy climate for the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, this beautiful medium-bodied wine was grown slowly to build intense flavors over time. This wine was aged in French oak and displays a beautiful balance of fruit, oak and liveliness on the palate and exhibits lush mango and toasted almond. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Russian River Chardonnay.
Rhombic:
When Founder John Barratt Rudulph designed the iconic badge in the early days of the fraternity, aside from our letters, it stood alone as the sole symbol of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Long before the flag, coat of arms, and other emblems adorned chapter halls, the badge was the distinct symbol of our brotherhood. Rhombic in shape with gold trim, a field of Nazarene blue, Minerva, the lion, Phi Alpha, and an olive wreath. Its subtlety is unmatched; its purpose is undeniable. And for what it means to those who wear it proudly over their hearts, yet with humility, it is impossible to conceive by those not privileged enough to call themselves loyal sons of Minerva.
We introduce you to Rhombic. From the Russian River Valley AVA of Sonoma County, this beautiful wine is influenced mostly by the fog of the AVA and is very aromatic, with a velvet mouthfeel, and has a fruit character that is ripe and intense.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the singing fraternity — there is a song for every occasion. The SAE Yell unites every member, especially when we are gathered for times of celebration. We introduce to you Ruh Rah. This premium sparkling wine – meticulously and artfully made in the traditional champagne method – rivals anything found from the best Champagne houses in Épernay and Reims. Blended superbly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this magnificent Napa Valley Brut exhibits rich fruit aromatics of strawberry and delicate white cherry that follows through to a creamy mid-palate accompanied with highlights of lime and wet minerality and a lingering vibrant finish.
Levere:
No building is more synonymous with Sigma Alpha Epsilon than The Levere Memorial Temple, the vision of past Eminent Supreme Archon and Eminent Supreme Recorder William C. Levere (Northwestern, 1898). Originally conceived as a war memorial, it also serves as Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Fraternity Service Center and hosts educational programs and events. Since its dedication in 1930, the Levere Memorial Temple continues to be the physical beacon of light, with visiting members being told “welcome home” upon their arrival.
We introduce you to Levere. This proprietary red blend – from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.
Fairwinds 2021 Rosé of Cabernet:
Our Rose of Cabernet 2021 hails from the Russian River Valley, offering a delightful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in rosé form. Vibrant aromas of fresh strawberries and watermelon precede flavors of red berries and citrus zest. A crisp acidity and a hint of floral notes on the finish make this rosé a perfect companion for sunny days.
